A reason to pause here
We like a square that offers somewhere to turn away from the tram tracks for a moment. Around All Saints Square, the palace frontage, clipped planting and small fountain give us several such pauses.
The palace and the municipal offices
The building beside the square is Wielopolski Palace, now Kraków’s municipal headquarters. The city’s account of the area describes how the All Saints and Franciscan squares sit around the civic buildings and neighbouring churches. This is a working civic quarter as well as a place on an Old Town walk.
Turn away from the tram line
We would step towards the planted area and look at the palace frontage before continuing. The small fountain and clipped greenery in the photographs reward a short pause. Franciscan Church and the Bishops’ Palace make useful next stops, each with its own access rules.
Plan the visit
Cross the tram routes carefully and use designated pedestrian crossings. The palace is a working city hall, so public-office access does not imply a sightseeing route through every room. Check announced open days if an interior visit interests you.
