A reason to pause here
The pink walls and garden are what draw our attention to Klezmer-Hois. The photographs stay outside, so our interest begins with the frontage and its place in a walk around Szeroka rather than a meal we have not documented.
A different use for the former mikveh
Klezmer-Hois occupies a former mikveh, a Jewish ritual bath, on Szeroka. The operator describes today’s café, restaurant, guest rooms and bookshop, and credits musician Leopold Kozłowski-Kleinman as a co-creator of the venue. The building’s former use is part of the surrounding Jewish quarter’s history.
Begin with the street and garden
Our photographs stay outside, where pink walls and greenery soften the corner. We would make it a stop during a Szeroka walk, then decide whether to reserve a meal or musical event from the current programme. The gallery does not document a meal or a stay.
