A reason to pause here
The tulips bring us close to the statue before we follow the curved path around it. We like a literary monument that becomes a small discovery during a park walk.
A character from Słowacki’s drama
Henryk Jordan funded Alfred Daun’s sculpture of Lilla Weneda, a character from Juliusz Słowacki’s drama, in 1884. The first figure was made of stone. A bronze version replaced it on the original pedestal in 1897, after the stone had deteriorated.
Follow the curve around the planting
We would stop where the tulips meet the statue’s base, then look again from the surrounding path. The flower beds in our spring views belong to the season of the photographs. The literary figure is there to look for on a walk in other seasons too.
Plan the visit
Use the public Planty paths to reach the statue. Stay outside flower beds, even when a closer view seems tempting. This small stop fits a walking route through the northern gardens without needing a separate museum booking.
