A few benches and a fork in the park path can be enough of a reason to pause. The spring planting makes this small named space part of the walk itself.

A name from Piwnica pod Baranami

The city opened the named square in June 2022 to honour Piotr Skrzynecki, associated with the Piwnica pod Baranami cabaret. Kraków’s account links him with the artists who worked through that venue, including Ewa Demarczyk and Zygmunt Konieczny.

The greenery is part of the older Planty ring, laid out in the nineteenth century after the removal of much of the city’s defences. We like the distinction between the park’s age and the recent name: the bench and paths belong to a longer walk, while the dedication gives us someone to learn about.

Choose a bench, then the next path

The spring photographs show planting, benches and paths branching through the green space. We would make this a short pause rather than set aside a separate outing. Look for the name on site, then decide which Planty stretch to follow next.

A music-related walk can continue with the neighbouring Ewa Demarczyk square. For an actual performance, consult a current venue programme; a named park space does not imply a concert on the day you arrive.

Plan the visit

Approach on the public Planty paths and use the city’s park information for any changed access. Benches are shared, so keep bags and photography equipment out of the walking line. The KBF event programme is useful if you want to combine the walk with music, but past festival listings should not be treated as upcoming events.
