A reason to pause here
The straight paved path at Stany makes us want to ride until the bridge comes into view. Our photographs keep the surroundings in the frame too: fields, riverbank trees and the steelwork that tells us this route had an earlier railway use.
A railway crossing before a cycle route
The bridge over the Oder was built in 1907–1908 for the Wolsztyn–Nowa Sól–Żagań railway. Beuchelt & Co. of Zielona Góra designed and made the structure. It now forms part of the region’s former-railway cycling setting, with Kolej na Rower linking places across the Nowa Sól district.
Let the bridge come into view
We would ride the paved approach with time to stop before the steelwork. Fields and riverbank trees give the route more than one subject for a photograph. Stop off the riding line rather than on a blind approach, then take the bridge at a pace that leaves room for other users.
Plan the visit
Check the current local route map, crossings and any flood-related closures before riding. These photographs document a section, not a complete navigable track or verified ride length. Bring water and choose a return route before setting off.
